Maritime Cook Islands (MCI), the Cook Islands Ship Registry, proudly marked its first appearance at the Singapore Yachting Festival (SYF) 2025—an influential event held from April 10–13 at ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove. The festival spotlighted the continued growth of Asia’s yachting industry, especially within the superyacht segment.
SYF 2025 drew more than 12,000 visitors and showcased over 100 top-tier brands, including 20 new exhibitors. With 70 yachts afloat—15 of them exceeding 24 meters—the event reaffirmed Singapore’s status as the yachting hub of Southeast Asia. The festival also featured 10 Asian premieres and two global product launches.
The largest yacht on display, the 56-meter custom-built powercat Charley 2, was a festival highlight—proudly flying the Cook Islands flag. Built by renowned West Australian shipyard Echo Yachts, Charley 2 showcased exceptional craftsmanship and engineering.
Representing MCI at the festival were Katrina Matheson, Head of Marketing and Media, and Singapore-based agent Hilda Loe and her team. Their strong presence underscored MCI’s deepening commitment to the region.
A standout aspect of MCI’s participation was the impressive fleet of ten Cook Islands-registered yachts on display—most notably the high-profile Charley 2—all proudly flying the national flag.
Reflecting on the experience, Mrs. Matheson said:
“It was invaluable to witness the strong presence of Cook Islands-flagged yachts here in Singapore, including the impressive Charley 2, and to connect with so many captains, owners, and crew. The festival also provided an excellent platform to meet new contacts and engage with key stakeholders across the Asian region. We’re especially grateful for the outstanding work of our local agent, Hilda Loe, whose dedication and deep regional knowledge have been instrumental in growing awareness and trust in the Cook Islands flag throughout Asia.”
MCI’s successful debut at SYF 2025 reflects its proactive engagement and growing influence in Asia’s dynamic yachting market.
