Maritime Cook Islands Attends Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show 2025

Maritime Cook Islands (MCI) attended the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show (SCIBS) from May 22nd to 25th. The event provided a platform for MCI to interact with marine industry professionals and present its services.

Representing Maritime Cook Islands were Registrar of Ships, Moeroa Matheson; Technical Manager, Paul Jackson; and Head of Marketing and Media, Katrina Matheson. The MCI team participated in the event, utilizing networking opportunities. These included valuable discussions with Cook Islands Agent, James Humphreys, and Cook Islands approved surveyor Rod Twitchen and his wife, Renee.

Katrina Matheson, Head of Marketing and Media, stated, “The event provided a valuable opportunity to engage with yacht owners, brokers, maritime lawyers, and marina managers. It was also particularly beneficial for our team to have face-to-face meetings with clients and stakeholders, and to connect with a range of professionals from the Australian maritime industry. We anticipate attending the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show again next year.”

A particular highlight was the presence of two Cook Islands flagged superyachts: the award-winning 35m newbuild Pazienza, built by Cantiere delle Marche, which was exhibiting at the show, and the 31m superyacht Nyla, notably operated by an all-female crew from New Zealand.

The AIMEX Garden served as a designated area for members of Superyacht AIMEX, ACMG, and Superyacht Australia. This space was used for meetings and networking. In the evenings, the garden was used for social gatherings.

Maritime Cook Islands’ participation in SCIBS 2025 reflects its continued engagement with the international yachting community and industry.
