Maritime Cook Islands Expands Global Reach at MYBA Charter Show 2025

Maritime Cook Islands (MCI) marked a significant milestone at the 35th MYBA Charter Show, held from April 28 to May 1, 2025, at the PortoSole Marina in San Remo, Italy. As the official launch of the Mediterranean charter season, the show welcomed a record 1,081 superyacht professionals and showcased 81 charter-ready yachts, a 40% increase from the previous year.

MCI was represented by Grant Hobart, Petar Kacavenda, Mary Tsoi, and Marcelo Chiazzaro. Over four dynamic days, the team held dozens of meaningful conversations with yacht brokers, managers, legal experts, and service providers. These engagements underscored MCI’s growing recognition as a responsive, client-focused yacht registry that delivers tailored solutions to the global superyacht community.

A key talking point at the event was MCI’s Dual Private/Commercial Registration, which continues to generate strong interest from owners and managers seeking flexibility without compromising compliance. MCI noted a sharp increase in engagement from emerging markets, including Turkey, Dubai, and the United States, an encouraging sign of its expanding international influence.

“We spoke with captains on the docks, and many said they’re seeing the Cook Islands flag in more ports than ever before,” said Petar Kacavenda. “It’s a clear indicator of our growing global presence and the trust the industry places in our registry.”
The show also provided an excellent opportunity to reconnect with long-standing clients and form new relationships with rising industry players.

MCI’s participation aligns with its broader strategy to support yacht owners and operators through innovative, efficient registration processes backed by responsive support and regulatory clarity.
